Itenerary
Day 1: Addis Ababa to Jinka
Fly from Addis Ababa to Jinka. Upon arrival, head to the Key Afer local market, where you’ll encounter members of the Benna, Hamar, and Tsemay tribes, known for their colorful attire and cultural traditions.
Afterward, drive to Turmi, the home of the Hamer tribe. In the evening, experience the Hamer people’s traditional “Evangadi” dance, a lively and social celebration.
Overnight: Lodge in Turmi.
Day 2: Excursion to Omorate and Return to Jinka
In the morning, take an excursion to Omorate, where you’ll visit the Dassenech tribe, crossing the Omo River by boat.
Later, visit a local Hamer village, and if the opportunity arises, witness the traditional “Jumping of the Bulls” ceremony, an important rite of passage for young Hamer men.
Return to Jinka and explore the culture of the Ari tribe, known for their unique pottery-making traditions.
Overnight: Resort or hotel in Jinka.
Day 3: Jinka to Mago National Park and Departure
Drive to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, famous for their distinctive lip plates and ornamental ear lobes.
Return to Jinka for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy a Farewell Program that includes a cultural dinner, shopping opportunities, and a museum visit.
Afterward, you will be transferred to Bole International Airport for your flight home.
